Working Together

I'm passionate about supporting people getting through life's hurdles, even the unexpected ones whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship or family issues, or any other concerns that may be impacting your mental well-being.

Appreciating everyone is unique, my aim is to support you in finding a positive way forward and feeling less overwhelmed, by offering a space where you will be heard and seen, away from the noise of life. Our 50 minutes together will be totally focused on you and what you bring to the session, without interruption.

We will be able to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, and you will be at the heart of our counselling relationship, as we work together to help you make sense of your feelings.

Our work together will be supported by my integrative approach to counselling, which means I can be flexible and use a variety of methods that can work for you.

Initial Consultation

My initial consultation process begins with a brief, introductory call. This allows me to understand your needs and explore if we are a good fit for your counselling journey. It's a vital step in ensuring we can provide the help you're seeking.

Working With Adults

At Fairchild Counselling, I provide individualised counselling for adults. My approach is integrative because I understand that one size doesn't fit all when it comes to addressing life's challenges. With a commitment to simplicity and tailored support, I work collaboratively with you to create a unique therapeutic journey that aligns with your specific needs and goals. Whether you're seeking personal growth, managing stress, or navigating complex life issues, Fairchild Counselling is here to guide you toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Working With Your Young Person 11+

At Fairchild Counselling, I understand the unique challenges young people face today. My approach is rooted in creative techniques, designed to provide effective support for a wide range of issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm, suicidal ideation, friendship struggles, exam stress, family and friend relationships, bereavement, and the nuances of neurodiversity such as ADHD and Autism

Transitioning from junior to secondary school can be a daunting journey for young people, filled with a multitude of challenges. Adjusting to a new environment, with unfamiliar classrooms and teachers, can often feel overwhelming. Building new friendships can be equally daunting, as students may find themselves in larger classes with unfamiliar faces. The pressure to adapt academically and socially can sometimes lead to stress and anxiety. I am here to help them navigate these transitions, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to thrive in their new school environment.

My primary goal is to work with you as parents, placing the well-being of your child at the forefront. I am dedicated to helping young people.

Whether it's addressing separation anxiety or fostering healthier relationships, Fairchild Counselling is here to support the unique needs of young people on their journey to emotional well-being.

Working With Young people 16+

At Fairchild Counselling, I recognise the complexities young adults aged 16 and above often face. My approach is centred on empowering the individual, addressing a wide spectrum of issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm, suicidal ideation, friendship dynamics, exam stress, family relationships and bereavement.

Transitioning from secondary school to sixth form or apprenticeships can be a significant step in a young person's life. Adjusting to the increased independence and responsibility that comes with these choices can be challenging. Whether they are pursuing academic excellence in a sixth form or embarking on an apprenticeship journey, adapting to a new environment and different learning styles can feel overwhelming. Additionally, making decisions about future careers and life paths can create stress and uncertainty.

Similarly, the transition from sixth form to university marks a pivotal moment in a young person's educational journey. Moving away from home, managing finances, and facing the academic rigour of higher education can be demanding. Building new social networks and adjusting to a more self-directed learning environment can also be challenging.

My primary focus is on the young person themselves, working closely with them to understand their unique needs and concerns. I create a safe, confidential space where they can freely express themselves, gain valuable insights, and develop coping strategies. Whether it's building resilience, improving relationships, or managing life transitions, Fairchild Counselling is dedicated to supporting young adults in their journey toward emotional well-being and personal growth.
